2023 Business Best Practices Expo
The Quebec Quality Movement is accelerating the sustainable and responsible transformation of Quebec organizations
Montreal, November 23, 2023 – The Quebec Quality Movement (MQQ) presents the31st edition of the Business Best Practices Expo (Salon MPA). For the occasion, thousands of business leaders, experts, and enthusiasts of performance and quality are gathering today at the Palais des congrès de Montréal to take part in Canada’s largest event dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation. This event was made possible thanks to financial support from the Government of Quebec.
“The Best Business Practices Fair is a one-day event that allows companies to share their winning strategies for addressing the challenges of today’s labor market. Human resources, training, and innovation are at the heart of this event. “I congratulate the companies being honored today and commend the exceptional work of the fair’s organizers!” said Kateri Champagne Jourdain, Minister of Employment and Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region.
“Innovation is at the heart of our government’s economic vision, and the Quebec Quality Movement is working to promote its adoption within businesses. “I commend Quebec organizations that strive for excellence by investing in the continuous improvement of their processes,” said Mr. Christopher Skeete, Deputy Minister of the Economy, Minister responsible for the Fight Against Racism, and Minister responsible for the Laval region.

We work in partnership with business leaders and their teams to accelerate the implementation of sustainable transformation projects that will enable organizations to reinvent themselves and increase their productivity, competitiveness, and performance on the global stage,” says Guy Martel, President and CEO of the Mouvement québécois de la qualité.
Refreshed and Interactive Programming
The MPA Show is presenting a revamped and interactive program for its31st edition. In fact, the experiential zone is undergoing a complete transformation to highlight the concept ofgamification. Pavilion 5.0, a showcase highlighting theFifth Industrial Revolution, places people at the heart of digital transformation and emphasizes the urgent need to reduce companies’ carbon footprints (GHG emissions).
The trade show also features several training sessions and conferences led by MQQ experts and seasoned executives. The program also includes about 30 continuous improvement projects—successfully carried out by passionate teams with whom attendees can speak on-site.
“The link between the MPA Trade Show and digital transformation grows stronger with each edition. This shift—undertaken by many organizations—generates significant productivity gains, as it allows them to produce more goods and deliver more services without necessarily increasing their workforce, a major advantage in the context of a labor shortage,” explains Mr. Martel.
The trade show offers a unique opportunity to network, learn about the success stories of Quebec companies, and explore new trends in supply chain optimization, artificial intelligence, value-added manufacturing (Lean), sustainable innovation, and human resources management.
Recognition of Quebec Leadership
The MPA Expo provides the Government of Quebec with an opportunity to present the Prix performance Québec, an award that recognizes Quebec organizations that have distinguished themselves through the quality of their management and their overall performance.
Leaders' Forum: Sustaining Growth in an Uncertain Environment
The Leaders’ Forum brings together five business leaders who—despite an uncertain economic and geopolitical environment—have managed to stay the course toward growth. The pandemic, the war in Ukraine, supply chain issues, inflation, rapidly rising interest rates, tighter monetary policies, the rise of U.S. protectionism, and labor shortages are all challenges that organizations must navigate.
This year, the Forum welcomes: Claude Barbeau, Executive Director of INNOTEX; Serge Bohec, Founding President of La Petite Bretonne; Isabelle Côté, President and CEO of Coffrages Synergy; Hugue Meloche, President and CEO of Groupe Meloche; and Dany Michaud, President and CEO of Voghel.
