The Quebec Quality Movement (MQQ) and the House of Social Innovation (MIS) announce the signing of a strategic partnership aimed at driving social innovation and organizational performance among businesses and collectives in Quebec.
Needs are skyrocketing in the areas of health care, housing, the ecological transition, and social services. But we cannot ask organizations to “do more with less” without providing them with the appropriate tools, methods, and partners. By joining forces, the MQQ and the MIS are creating a unique ecosystem where continuous improvement and social innovation feed into one another, benefiting all Quebec organizations—public, private, and community-based.
At the heart of this initiative is the goal of establishing social innovation as a management practice in its own right—on par with continuous improvement—and embedding it permanently among Quebec’s best business practices.
Together, the MQQ and the MIS will develop concrete initiatives to support organizations in addressing their challenges related to innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. Planned actions include: jointly organizing webinars on social innovation; participating together in the Best Business Practices Fair (Salon MPA); developing and integrating professional training programs into the MQQ’s schedule; and creating a social innovation framework that will include a set of best practices for evaluating and improving the performance of social innovation initiatives.
Social innovation is a demanding endeavor that requires specific skills and proven methods. It requires understanding the root causes of issues, engaging relevant stakeholders, co-creating solutions, and testing them in real-world conditions before scaling them up. By combining this expertise with the strength of the MQQ’s network, the two organizations aim to provide Quebec-based organizations with the practical tools they need to successfully navigate their transformations.
“We are pleased to partner with MIS to expand our offerings and enrich our community through social innovation. This collaboration will allow us to combine our expertise in continuous improvement and social innovation to provide Quebec organizations with concrete tools to transform themselves and increase their impact in a sustainable way.” – Guy Martel, President and CEO of the Mouvement québécois de la qualité.
“Social innovation isn’t just a vague idea—it’s a rigorous approach to addressing major societal challenges. Thanks to this partnership, organizations in Quebec will be able to draw on proven approaches to transform their practices and create greater impact.” – Marie-Christine Ladouceur Girard, Executive Director, Maison de l’innovation sociale.
