Course Description
Artificial intelligence is everywhere, but few people know what it really is. This first level of the certification lays the groundwork: what is AI, what are its different types, what are its current capabilities and limitations, and how can it be practically applied within an organization today.
You’ll discover the difference between generative AI, agents, and other types of AI; you’ll learn prompt engineering by practicing directly with LLMs; and you’ll distinguish between custom AI projects developed with professionals and licensed solutions accessible through accounts. The course also covers bias and hallucinations, the skills needed to evolve alongside AI, concrete examples of custom projects, an overview of the leading LLMs on the market, and a look at the future of artificial intelligence. Based on your specific context, you’ll be guided to identify relevant opportunities for use within your organization and to formulate one or two realistic initial actions to take after the training.
This module guides you through the key questions to consider when first encountering AI:
- What is artificial intelligence, and what are its different types?
- How do you write a good prompt and recognize biases and hallucinations in a response?
- What are the current capabilities and limitations of AI, and what is the difference between an off-the-shelf solution and a custom project?
- What are the relevant use cases in my organization, and what initial steps can I take after the training?
This course is part of a four-level AI certification program. Levels 2 through 4 will be certified through an exam based on the program’s content.

Target Audience and Prerequisites
Target audience: Anyone interested in artificial intelligence, with no prior background in prompt engineering or information technology. This introductory course lays the groundwork in AI and its ecosystem, enabling participants to move on to the next levels.
Prerequisites: None.
General Objective
This training course lays the groundwork for AI, develops basic prompt engineering skills, clarifies AI’s capabilities and limitations, and helps participants identify opportunities for its use as well as one or two concrete actions for their organization.
