Notice of appointment of Maysa Habelrih as President and CEO of the Movement

Maysa HabelrihDear members and customers,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Ms. Maysa Habelrih to the position of President and CEO of the Movement. For several months, our selection committee followed a rigorous process to find the best person to fill this position.

During a 30-year career, Maysa Habelrih held several positions at Rio Tinto and Alcan Inc. She successfully deployed the Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement initiative in Alcan's aluminium smelters. She was subsequently responsible for the continuous improvement function throughout Alcan. From 2011 to 2019, she was executive vice president responsible for Rio Tinto Aluminium's (RTA) global joint ventures.

Ms. Habelrih received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from McGill University. She has completed the international Master of Management Practice program offered by McGill University in collaboration with INSEAD, Lancaster University and other international institutions in India, Japan and South Korea.

His extensive experience, exemplary track record, knowledge of continuous improvement and leadership will be important assets in the pursuit of the Mouvement's vision: to be the reference and partner of choice for Quebec organizations in terms of performance and emerging and innovative business practices.

This appointment is made in the context of the retirement of Ms. Johanne Maletto, the outgoing President and CEO. Ms. Maletto led our organisation for many years. She has made the Movement what it is today: a world-class organization dedicated to organizational excellence. She will ensure the transition for the next few weeks.

This appointment comes at a key moment in our strategic planning. It is part of a context of continuity in the face of a changing environment marked by both telework and hybrid work. Ms. Habelrih's mission is to grow the Mouvement québécois de la qualité in accordance with our new 2021-2024 strategic plan.

Acting Chair of the Board of Directors,

Nadine Côté
