Master dynamic tables with Power BI
Come discover Power BI, the leader in interactive, automated, and secure dashboards! A two-day training course to master this “Excel on steroids.” Make informed decisions quickly!
Course Description
The 14-hour Power BI training course immerses you in the Power BI ecosystem, with a focus on data transformation, creating dynamic dashboards, and cloud-based sharing. Computer literacy, particularly with Excel, is recommended to get the most out of the course.
The content is divided into four parts:
- Explore visuals using sample data provided by Microsoft to discover visual features and interactivity on the canvas.
- An introduction to Power Query, a tool for connecting to various data sources and automating refreshes.
- Manage relational models and use DAX to effectively manage data tables and dynamic calculations.
- Focus on the Power BI Service, Microsoft’s cloud-based platform, by learning how to set up automated data refreshes and manage secure sharing and access to dashboards.
The instructor, Matthieu Lirette-Gélinas, who holds degrees in electrical engineering and engineering management and is a partner at Maverick Analytik, shares his knowledge and experience to help you master Power BI and get the most out of it.
Overall objective
The goal of this training is to help participants become familiar with the Power BI ecosystem and its various tools, such as data transformation, creating dynamic dashboards, and cloud-based sharing.
Who is this training intended for?
This training is open to everyone.
Benefits
- Identify the key success factors and the main pitfalls to avoid in a change management process
- Identify the phases and key steps of the change management process
- Build credibility when implementing change on the ground (or during the change rollout)
- Develop your change implementation strategy
Course Details
- Using Visuals: Using the sample data provided by Microsoft, we will explore the various visual and interactive features available on the canvas.
- Power Query: We’ll explore a data processing tool that allows you to connect to a wide variety of data sources. It will make it easier to automate data refresh processes.
- Relational Models and DAX: We will explore how to manage multiple data tables in Power BI that interact to provide the requested information. We will also cover the DAX programming language, which we will use to define dynamic calculations.
- Power BI Service: We will cover the features of Microsoft’s cloud-based service. It enables automated data refresh and allows you to manage sharing and secure access.
Assignment due
To earn the "Digital Strategist" certification, participants must complete an assessed project. They will be required to design a dashboard in Power BI using sample data. The project file can be submitted to the instructor for evaluation.
